EMERGENCE

Our '08-'09 season kicks-off with three emerging artists. Premiere exhibit explores their contemporary  aesthetic, verve and enthusiasm. Dawn Vasquez-Santos, schooled, layered and complex lithographs and paintings; Julio Cesar Rodarte bold symbolic graphic images; Michael Hannan, found objects assemblages spiritually metaphoric, wall and sculptural works.

The no-holds-barred annual artistic roasting of evils amongst us.  No politically evil force left unturned.  Over 20 artists expose their monstrous art, releasing the fears and loathing about today's society.

ON HALLOWEEN NIGHT, our Masquerade Ball blows away the timid and shy.  Kick-ass time for all. A night of  uninhibited performances and dance, monstrous art and revelry.  Come out to play around the fire as we roast political beasts.  Performances include naughty burlesque fantasies, zombies, 12' spiders and tangled webs, underground videos,  Dance DJ's. All at the haunted house and gardens of Alwun on Roosevelt.

Complimentary hors d'oeuvres, no host bar.

LIGHTHOUSE AT ALWUN HOUSE

Every piece of art playfully uses the ever important element, LIGHT.

Illuminated art playfully installed throughout gallery and amongst the garden for the curious minded...featuring over 20 artists with no gallery lights, only art light.

THE EXOTIC

ART SHOW SPECTACULAR

 

Valentine's Eve, on lucky Friday the 13th, the most talked about, "gotta go" place to be, opens. Arizona's wildly popular Exotic Art Show , returns with enough spice, titillation and fantasy to excite romantics of all persuasions to get their kinks out. The longest running exhibit of its kind in the nation. Special Events TBA. Adult material.

ART DETOUR

Visit where downtown's Art Scene actually started. Artlink's annual tour of downtown arts venues and artist's studios. Visit Alwun's award-winning lush Gardens in spring bloom, with koi fountains, relaxing ambiance for table seating and a pause for shade and salubrious refreshments. Since Art Detour is scheduled during our annual Exotic Art Show, the family entrance to Alwun House's garden haven - is through the "back gate." The exhibit is open to 18+ (contains mature subject matter).

SALON DES ENFANTS

Alwun House is proud to host this annual juried exhibit of Phoenix' best naive artists.  Phoenix Elementary School District #1 Art Teachers select their best student's arts and fill the gallery, 'salon style.'
